Brendan LeBlanc, Partner, Climate Change and Services; Ernst & Young
Brendan is based in Boston and currently leads EY's Sustainable Business Solutions team within the Americas Climate Change and Sustainability Services practice. He is a subject matter expert on sustainability strategies, metrics, ESG reporting and assurance. Brendan has led over 100 sustainability engagements.
Brendan has served as EY's representative on the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) as the Liaison Delegate. Significant involvement with Agricultural and Natural Capital, Social Capital, Risk Management, Redifining Value workstreams, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Advisory Board, Education and Assurance Committees, SHIFT - UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (RAFI) Advisor, International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) Working Group , Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) - North American Organizational Stakeholder group, Sustainable Brands - Advisory Board, Reporting 3.0 – Steering Board and the UN office of the General Assembly panel on financing the Sustainable Development Goals.
Brendan has more than 22 years of experience working with global public and private companies to provide financial and non-financial advisory and assurance services.
Prior to joining EY, Brendan served as founder and CEO of LeBlanc & Associates, a niche CPA firm focused on corporate social responsibility reporting and assurance services. Brendan issued the first reasonable assurance opinion on a sustainability report in the US in 2008 for Ben & Jerry's.
Brendan holds a B.A. in Accounting from Gordon College and has a Graduate certificate in Sustainable Business from the University of Vermont. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in MA and NH and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
